Identity V Call of the Abyss IV Explained!

Identity V is having its annual Call of the Abyss IV event! Read on to find out more details and what rewards you can get!

What is the Call of the Abyss?

Firstly, we have to address the rather complicated question of what Call of the Abyss (CoA) actually is. CoA is a yearly event that is held, usually near the end of the year. It is a server-wide tournament and a global festivity that all players can participate in, regardless of skill level!

To participate, you need to have a team of players band together to form a Club. A Club can have 1~7 members. However, only the members with the top 5 most amount of points will count towards your final Club Score. The higher your final Club Score, the further your Club can go and the better your rewards!

Amongst the rewards are Abyss Treasures, which can be opened just like Memory Spheres for exclusive cosmetic items. You can also purchase them with Inspiration Points (lightbulbs). If you don’t have enough Inspiration Points, you can always purchase more using Echoes!

Format Explanation

The official Call of the Abyss rules announcement page can be rather…intimidating. So we’re here to break it down for you in a way that’s easier to understand.

There are three major stages for Call of the Abyss. The first stage is the in-game tournament where anyone can compete within their region server. There are a total of four region servers: NA-EU, South Korea, Southeast Asia and the China server which consists of Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.

Secondly, the top 8 Clubs from each server region will proceed to the online qualifiers. A Club can choose to decline the invitation, in which case their invitation will be extended to the next eligible Club. A live stream will cover the online qualifiers over two days.

Finally, the winners of each server region’s online qualifier, alongside the qualifying teams from Mainland China, will then proceed to the global offline tournament. There will be a total of 16 teams competing in the global offline tournament for the title of world champion!

Kassandra Meets Eivor In New Assassin’s Creed Crossover; Did It Live Up To Expectations? | Brad’s Review

If you’ve read my past Assassin’s Creed work, you will know by now that I am a MAJOR AC fan. I love the lore, I love the gameplay and I am usually always invested in the characters and developments. But what do I feel about the new crossover story?

On 14 December, Ubisoft made a surprise announcement that Kassandra, the protagonist from Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will be meeting Eivor. This is the very first time two different main Assassins from two different games (as in the main games not the Chronicles or the ones involving Xiao Jun) met each other, and I was all for it.

Was it worth the wait though? Yes and No.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

The first story takes place in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. If you want to follow the canonical lore, then you will have to go with Kassandra. We recommend you to finish the entire AC Odyssey story before jumping into this crossover story though.

But if you don’t want to play the game and just want to jump into this then here’s a brief recap.

Kassandra started her journey to find her mother, Myrrine. Then, she finds out about the Cult of Cosmos and what they plan to do. After that she finds out her brother, Alexios is alive and is under the influence of the cult and was named Deimos. Long story short, the family can either reunite or all die, or maintain some people, depending on how you played it. Later, she would come to meet with the legendary Pythagoras, her real father. She then gets the Staff of Hermes Trismegistus from him and Aletheia shows up to explain everything.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey: Those Who Are Treasured

So, this crossover story for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is like a “Post-Credit” scene you’d see in a Marvel movie. It shows Kassandra having a little vacation in Korfu, enjoying her time until two of her best friends, Barnabas and historian, Herodotus came to visit her.

They tell her about a little treasure hidden on the island but turns out it was a treasure hunt set by Barnabas and Herodotus. As she played along, things got a little more interesting when they found out that there was an actual treasure on Korfu. Spoiler alert, it was an Isu Artifact. Long story short, Barnabas went looking for the artifact but was corrupted by it. Kassandra saves Barnabas and she tells him that she’s immortal.

It was at this point that she realise what she must do to protect humanity and takes up the task to make sure these ISU artifacts do not fall into the wrong hands.

In the post-credit scenes, we see Kassandra in Egypt with the Assassin’s Creed Origin theme playing in the background. This scene shows that Kassandra has been travelling around the world to keep an eye on things. Question is, could Kassandra meet Bayek and Aya in future games, or maybe an update in Assassin’s Creed Origins?

It also means that we might see Kassandra or other main Assassins in Assassin’s Creed Infinity. Well, one can hope.

The entire crossover story and missions for the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey “Those Who Are Treasured” is amazing and I truly enjoyed it.

Assassins Creed Valhalla: A Fated Encounter

Ooooh boy… Now, this…. this is a different thing. Where do I begin? Guess this part deserves a rant.

I’m not saying that it’s BAD bad but, it was rather underwhelming. Especially since I’ve waited so long for this to happen. Two main protagonists in the Assassin’s Creed main games meeting each other for the first time should be something grand, something that would make you go WOW. But for me, it didn’t reach up to my expectations, it felt bland and their banters were just cheesy.

Here’s the story.

When Eivor first met Kassandra, her first reaction was probably what all of us has been thinking of all along… Is it just us or does Randvi actually look like Kassandra? Normally in any Assassin’s Creed game, the main character would ask questions before fighting, but not in this case.

The story continues in Assassin’s Cree Valhalla. When Eivor and Kassandra met for the first time, they just fought. No questions asked. After the fight, they realise they’re fighting for the same sides and they both go on an adventure together to find a Hidden Artifact.

So, why did I not like it?

It’s not that I don’t like it per se, it’s just that I had high expectations about it.

Why can’t Eivor be more cool-headed when she meets Kassandra, why must they fight instantly? Can’t they have a badass scene of Kassandra fighting off enemies, and they attack Eivor as well and they have this cool slow-mo tag-team action sequence and showing off their assassination skills. That would have been so much cooler in my opinion.  However, the fight between Kassandra and Eivor was really nice. It showed how far Kassandra has grown in her fighting skills and the differences in style between Kassandra and Eivor. Eivor was more solid and strong compared to Kassandra who was agile. Though the fight ended in a stalemate, I believe Kassandra won that fight as she was attacking more while Eivor was mostly second-guessing and staggering back.

Secondly, some of the banter between Kassandra and Eivor was a little cringy. It felt like they were a married couple trying to one-up each other. It gets tiresome and repetitive.

Other than that, it was like a typical modern-day Assassin’s Creed game.

So, would I recommend you to skip Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s… If you have time to spare, sure, try it out. The animation and graphics in the cutscenes are nice, and it’s extra AC Valhalla content. But if you just want to wait for Dawn of Ragnarok in 2022, that would work too.

Nairi : A young ambitious man who is a career driven loner, makes his way into Free Fire and is ready to take on the land of Bermuda.

Nairi is a support / healer character who is not afraid to use gloo walls as cover and an advantage.

Although he doesn’t get an active skill like Alok. Nairi’s Passive skill is Ice Iron.

Once deployed, Gloo Walls recover 30% of current durability every 1s. 25% increase in damage when using ARs (Assault Rifles) on Gloo Walls.

With this Passive Nairi is able to take a defensive stance while using Gloo Walls and simultaneously getting aggressive with  the increase in AR damage. A solid character for players of all difficulty.

We can agree that it’s defence may not be as tough as Chrono’s and at the same time may not be as rewarding to play aggressive as Wukong. But having the best of both worlds is also a good thing.

miHoYo’s open-world phenomena, Genshin Impact, announced last night, 26 December that a brand new update will be coming real soon. The upcoming Genshin Impact v2.4 update, “Fleeting Colors in Flight” is set to release on 5 January 2022. This update will feature Liyue’s biggest annual festival, the Lantern Rite.  Players will receive rich rewards and the chance to obtain a free four-star Liyue character. Moreover, the destroyed Jade Chamber from the past Archon Quest will be back!

New Island

This will be the first update of 2022 and it will unveil a brand new nation, the “Atlantis” of Inazuma, known as Enkanomiya. It’s the remains of an underwater nation that was sealed away for thousands of years beneath Inazuma.

What sets this island apart from the rest in Inazuma is that Enkanomiya is a huge floating island located beneath the ocean. It’s a place where the ancestors of the people of Watatsumi Island once lived.

Without day and night underground, players will need to find ways to use the Dainichi Mikoshi, an artificial sun developed by the ancient civilization. To activate the sun, players get to delve into the puzzles and depths of Enkanomiya.

The two new playable characters will also be joining at the start of Version 2.4. They’re both polearm users and are reliable supports to the team.

Yun Jin is a four-star character that owns a Geo Vision. She can buff her teammates’ Normal Attacks based on her Defense and the variety of Visions in the player’s party.

A professional Peking Opera Artist will voice Yun Jin’s opera performances as she’s an opera master. But, voice actress will voice her in different languages.

Moreover, players can also recruit Xiao, Ganyu, and Zhongli in their own Event Wishes during the upcoming version.

As the world of Teyvat sees its own new year arriving in Version 2.4, Liyue Harbor will once again be packed with games, stalls, vendors, and all sorts of festivities to celebrate the Lantern Rite. In this new update, the Traveler can also pitch in to help Ningguang and the locals rebuild the Jade Chamber.

Marvel Super War Colossus Guide (Top and Support)

Welcome to our Colossus guide for Marvel Super War! With the release of the Undisputed Champion skin in the Battle Pass, there might be a lot of new fans who want to learn Colossus. Therefore, we decided to release a comprehensive guide on how to play him.

Introduction

Colossus is a tanky and durable front liner, who packs a lot of control with slows, knockdowns and armour reduction. While he excels at locking down a team fight, he lacks proper initiation tools. This means that he’s better as a secondary tank, thus making him more suited for the Support role than the Top role. Despite that, we’ll still include builds for both roles!

Skill Breakdown

Passive – Organic Steel Body

Colossus’ Passive, Organic Steel Body

Every few seconds, Colossus will gain a stack of Organic Steel Body. These stacks show as a white bar (used to be dark yellow/orange) below his health bar. Each stack will reduce the physical damage taken from the next hit and then be consumed. You regain a stack every few seconds, and as you get higher level, you regain your Organic Steel Body stacks quicker. Lastly, you have slow immunity while you have at least one stack.

Take note that this doesn’t reduce magical damage or damage over time, and the cooldown is quite long, which makes this passive unreliable sometimes.

Skill 1 – Double Power Punch

Double Power Punch has an area of effect that will hit two opposite directions from Colossus. For example, if you aimed it forward, it will also hit the area behind you and if you aimed it to your right, it will also hit your left. All targets that were hit by this skill will be drawn to the centre, where Colossus is standing. If it hits at least two targets, he will also knock down enemy heroes for 1 second. Knockdown functions as a stun, but also has a special interaction with your Ultimate.

Your skill 1 has a pretty short range, so it is best to use this as a follow-up skill or as a peeling tool to keep your squishy teammates safe. It can also be used to reposition monsters like Leviathan by pulling it closer towards you or your teammates.

You should max this skill first, as it allows you to push faster and it deals good damage.

Skill 2 – Metal Charge Tackle

Colossus’ Skill 2, Metal Charge Tackle

Metal Charge Tackle is a two-activation skill. The first activation throws a punch, hitting a single target and slowing them. If the first activation hits an enemy hero, Colossus gets a speed boost and he can use the second activation of the skill. The second activation causes Colossus to lunge forward at a target and knock it down (and backwards).

This skill is the most useful part of Colossus’ kit and makes the other tools stronger. It slows your target while giving you a moment speed boost if it hits an enemy hero. This lets you escape from a bad fight or reposition yourself for a better Double Power Punch (1st Skill). You can also use the movement speed boost to run past an enemy and knock them towards your teammates!

The second activation can be used on a different target, even on minions and monsters so you can use the lunge to hop over walls or to reposition monsters to somewhere safer.

This skill is a one-point wonder. The slow and movement speed boost is all we care about, and those do not scale with points invested. Take this at Level 1 and max this last.

Ultimate – Osmium Elbow Drop

Colossus’ Ultimate, Osmium Elbow Drop

Osmium Elbow Drop is both an offensive and defensive tool with a massive range. However, Colossus’ Ultimate can only target knocked down enemies. When cast, Osmium Elbow Drop will cause Colossus to leap high into the air and crash down on the target. Then, the target will have reduced armour (from the Break effect) and Colossus will get a shield.

You can store two charges of this, so you can reliably use both charges in a team fight. However, it is best to hold on to a knockdown ability and a charge of your ultimate so that you can refresh the Break effect when the first one runs out. The only time you should do your full combo as quickly as possible is when your target can get away and you need to burst them.

Knockdown is a relatively rare status effect and hard to trigger, as knockback and knock up does not count as a knockdown. Other than Colossus’ kit, the only few skills that can knockdown is Black Widow’s Red Room Takedown and Proxima Midnight’s Terror Shadow. Therefore, don’t expect any other allies to enable your Ultimate for you.

The Colossus Game Plan

While Colossus’ kit makes him very durable, his unreliable passive makes it hard for him to be a solo laner. The cooldown is quite long and smart enemies will use their auto-attacks to break his stacks first. Other than that, he has no hard engage tools like The Thing, Hulk, or Sandman. Overall, we found that playing Colossus as a support and a secondary tank is more effective.

During team fights, your primary role is to disrupt the enemy team while keeping your carries safe. You should use the movement speed boost from your Metal Charge Tackle (Skill 2) to reposition depending on what your team needs. Your first choice is to run deeper into the enemy team for a big Double Power Punch (Skill 1) or to push an enemy backwards with the second part of your Skill 2. Your second choice is to run back to your carry and push any threats away from them. Either way, you’ll follow up with an Osmium Elbow Drop (Ult) for the shield and Break effect. Then, you can use the shield to buy time for you to assess the situation and choose whether you go on the offensive or continue defending your carries.

This is going to be a very straightforward build that makes Colossus as tanky as possible. Build Hurricane Pauldrons first for the AoE damage over time effect from its passive. Then rush boots and go straight for Megingjord for the sustain. We take this build path because it gives us the capability to farm and sustains ourselves more efficiently.

If you don’t really need either, Goblin Mask can give you dual resists, more CC and a strong active skill that will make you a lot tankier.

Support

For a support Colossus, the build path is exactly the same as Top Colossus. The only difference is that you swap out Hurricane Pauldrons/Glorious Armor for Enhancement Serum, the HP Support item.

Finally, the Christmas Shootout is here in Ragnarok X Next Generation. This Christmas Event start from 23 Dec 2021 5:00am until 31 Dec 2021 5:00am. To participate, mount your way to Geffen, the City of Magic. Just hit the balloons to obtain your desired Christmas Gifts!

So hoow to obtain this exquisite Christmas Gift?

Step 1: Use your Odin’s Blessing and grind the monster, participate in Instance and clearing mission in the Carnival to obtain Magic Projectile (Starshot (Meteor Pellets, and Icicle Ammo). The higher the quality of the Ammo you use, the more damage you will deal to the balloons!

Step 2

Step 2: Go to the Christmas Shop in Geffen to purchase. You are required to get the exclusive item: Elk Slingshot. After purchase, equip your slingshot.

Step 3

Step 3: Use the Elk Slingshot or approach the battery to activate ranged attack view, and then aim at the balloons and shoot. Pop any balloon to get your desired Christmas Gift. The larger the balloon, the greater the reward!

Note:  Don’t use mount while doing this activity, if not your slingshot won’t be activated.

When it comes to gaming smartphones, there’s only a few where we can call a TRUE gaming smartphone. One of them is the Legion Phone Duel 2. It is what you call a TRUE, Ultimate gaming phone.

One of the main reasons why we enjoyed our experience with the phone is because of its solid build. Although it does have some weight to the phone compared to standard smartphones, its performance speaks for itself.

Some of the best features on the phone include the built-in twin-turbo cooling system, the octa-trigger points and the 44MP motorized front-facing pop-up camera. The front-facing camera is located in the middle of the phone, making it easier for streamers to stream their gameplay without accidentally blocking the camera with their thumbs.

The phone is so powerful, not only does it come with not one but dual 2750mAh batteries which is a total of 5500mAh.

If you have a Nintendo Switch and shopping for new games to play this holiday season, here are 5 of our favourite Nintendo Switch games you can enjoy this holiday.

1. Metroid Dread

One of the classic Nintendo series is back this year with new and improved features and graphics. The classic side-scrolling action-adventure game series, Metroid retains its classic features in their latest instalment, Metroid Dread.

The game follows up on the events that take place after Metroid Fusion. The Galactic Federation receives a footage from an unknown source that suggests the X Parasites had survived the destruction of SR388. The news would lead to the Federation wanting to use these parasites as bioweapons. Resident Evil vibes here we come. So, the Federation would later dispatch a unit of E.M.M.I robots to investigate this situation from the planet in which they received the message, Planet ZDR. However, the unit would vanish after its arrival. Samus would soon be dispatched by the Federation to investigate the situation as she’s the only one in the universe that’s immune against X Parasites.  You can read our FULL review of the game here.

The reason why this game is our favourite to play this season is that it brings back nostalgic memories of how we used to play games on the past Nintendo consoles. Apart from that, Metroid Dread also tells us a rather compelling story that would keep the family, and friends intrigued.

2. Shin Megami Tensei V

Another classic Nintendo series, Shin Megami Tensei V is a Japanese RPG game that’s set in a post-apocalyptic world of Tokyo. The reason why this game was so well-received is that it maintains the elements of its past games, the best parts that fans enjoy.

The turn-based mechanics is a great JRPG game to come out of  2021 and one that fans of the genre should try out at least once. especially during the holiday.

3. Animal Crossing

One of the best IP to come out from Nintendo in the past 10 years, Animal Crossing has gained a wide fan base through the years. Animal Crossing is a social simulation video game where players can interact with each other, as well as with cute animals. If you haven’t played this yet, it’s time to build a community and enjoy its rewards.

4. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

If you’re looking for a party game, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is the game you should play with your friends and family. Additionally, with Sora joining the vast roster of combatants, the game is now complete.

5. Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl

If you’re a fan of the Pokemon games and want to play an updated version of it, then the remake of Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl is for you.

However, this remake of two classic Pokemon games isn’t just for fans who want to revisit the game, but for those who are new to the series as well.

Unlike previous remakes Nintendo published where they were either good or bad, this remake stays as true to its original as much as possible. The well-refined formula of the classic catching and battling the plethora of Pokemon in the game has definitely withstood the test of time well.

This game is definitely one game to revisit… or visit during this holiday season.

Battle Pass 17 for Marvel Super War has just been released! This time, the theme is focusing on Colossus, as well as a strong boxing theme amongst the limited-time cosmetics.

Battle Pass 17 Rewards

As usual, the Battle Pass is split into the top track, which is available to all players for free, and the bottom track, which you need to gain access to. The top track has the usual currency items and trial cards scattered amongst random levels, as well as a few Dark Star caches. However, the bottom track is where all the limited-edition cosmetics are. Let’s take a look at what the Battle Pass is offering!

  • LV1: You can select and obtain one of the following skins: Magik (Phoenix Force), Executioner (Samurai) or Adam Warlock (Magus)
  • LV10: You’ll get the unique Battle Pass 017 avatar, which features Colossus.
  • LV20: You can select and recruit one of the following heroes: Yondu, Ant-Man or Jubilee.
  • LV30: You’ll get the unique Broadcast Screen. A Broadcast Screen is the banner that they use when they announce the kills that you get. In this case, we see a wrestling or boxing belt with a huge ‘X’ symbol across it, no doubt in reference to Colossus’ most prominent faction, the X-Men.
  • LV40: You get one Assembly Vanguard, a very rare currency that you can spend in the Logistics Shop.
  • LV50: You get the unique home beacon. We have yet to find footage of it, but we will update the article when we do!
  • LV60: The Undisputed Champion Colossus Skin! It comes with a unique recall animation and some rather funny sound effects. Every time you land a skill on an enemy champion, a crowd of fans will cheer for Colossus! Lastly, you get to see Colossus without his metal skin when you have no stacks of your passive. This is a unique effect that isn’t available on any of his other skins!

You can get the bottom track rewards by buying Basic Access for 428 Star Credits or Express Access for 798 Star Credits. Basic Access costs will unlock the bottom track, which allows you to start earning extra rewards and limited-time cosmetics.

However, Express Access will give you some luxurious rewards. Firstly, you’ll get 20 Battle Pass levels immediately. Besides that, you’ll also get a special Battle Pass 017 Avatar Frame. Lastly, you’ll gain early trial access to the Undisputed Champion Colossus skin during the Battle Pass period.

The special meaning behind the skin name: Undisputed Champion

Fun fact: An undisputed champion is a boxing title given to fighters who hold all four major championship belts in a division. Looking at the sheer size of Colossus in the game, he’s definitely in the heavyweight division. That means that the Battle Pass 17 skin is depicting a version of Piotr Rasputin (Colossus’ real name) that had beaten every other heavyweight within the Marvel Super War world. The real question now is whether those other heavyweights had mutant abilities or not!

The Godzilla vs Kong crossover for LifeAfter is getting a rerun! Originally released on May 20th 2021, the Godzilla vs Kong crossover event in LifeAfter was an epic experience for players everywhere. In the original event, players could team up to take down Godzilla or Kong for various rewards. There were also exclusive collaboration items up for grabs.

Get It While It’s Hot

From Dec 16 to Dec 30, LifeAfter will be having its Godzilla vs Kong collaboration items rerun. All the exclusive and time-limited collaboration items that were available in May will be back in stock! It seems like this will be your last chance to get them.

LifeAfter Godzilla Kong Rerun Suits

The two main stars of the collaboration event, the Godzilla and Kong armors!

Amongst the items that are available, the most impressive items are definitely the outfits. There are two outfits that can be gotten. The first one is based on Godzilla, named Atomic Power, which has blue and black motifs. The second outfit is based on Kong, named Guardian’s Heart, which has a red, brown and silver motif. There are different models for male and female outfits for both of them, of course. Best of all, the outfits come with special glowing effects on various parts of the armour!

All the cosmetics that you can get during the collaboration rerun!

Other than that, there are more Godzilla and Kong themed items that are available. Firstly, there are the Pajama Party outfits, a casual and cute looking uniform. Some players even think that the Pajama Party skins are more sought after than the armoured outfits!

The next set of items is the weapon skins. The Flamethrower Godzilla Edition features the same blue and black motif while the Zanbato Kong Edition does not feature any silver, unlike its armoured outfit counterpart.

Lastly, there are the furniture pieces and pendants. The furniture pieces are Cute Godzilla Sofa and Fierce Kong Sofa, which features their respective monster attached to a sofa. The Kong Pendant features the super-sized gorilla swatting at a helicopter while standing between two buildings.

You can obtain by using these methods below;

Monsters Drop – The original and classic way to obtain a card is by a random drop from Monsters. What we mean is, drilling the mobs by AFK, or by lucks.

  • Old Card Album – You’ll get this from quest and event rewards via kingdom pass. But the chances is we might say, by lucks (again).
  • Card Fragments – You can also collect up to 360 card fragment from a random drop on MVPs and Mini to form a Gold card. (when you participate in killing the MVPs or Mini.
  • Cat Hand Corp. Coin (Gacha) – For at least 60 coins you can roll for a card in the Vending Machine. (Still it will be random & based on your lucks). You can collect this coin by participating the daily quest COC Mission. You may also purchase this from Exchange Center. (Don’t forget, ROX is a gacha games guys)
  • MVP/Mini Coin (Gacha) – When you do monster hunting, you’ll get this coin as random drop. You may also buy this from the Exchange. You need at least 1500 Coins to roll.
  • Exchange Center – The last is from Exchange Center using Crystal or Diamonds. (The easiest and absolute way to obtain your desired card)

Identity V Christmas 2021 Event Guide

2021 is coming to a close and the Christmas cheer has arrived in the form of a new event in Identity V! Let’s go over all the things that you can get during the event!

The Star of the Show

The main attraction is, of course, the Gamekeeper – Christmas Reindeer costume. The costume is sporting an adorable reindeer plush on his head and a comically un-threatening fake moustache. Dressed for the winter, he’s also decked out in a red and green sweater and some fluffy, red gloves and boots. The costume also comes with some special effects that aren’t very apparent in this image. Firstly, there are light bulbs strewn across his antlers that emit a soft glow. Secondly, his chained hook is replaced with a miniature red-and-golden sleigh. This image really doesn’t do the costume justice because it looks way better in-game.

You can pick up the costume for 1388 Echoes. If you buy it within the first week, you’ll get a 15% discount, picking it up 1178 Echoes instead!

What is slugging in Identity V and is it TOXIC?

If you were to search up slugging in Identity V, you’ll find many heated debates about its viability as a strategy and whether it’s a toxic playstyle. This article will teach you everything you need to know about slugging and give you a better perspective on whether slugging is or is not considered toxic.

What is slugging? WHY is the name slugging?

The tactic called slugging originated from Dead by Daylight, which was the first asymmetrical horror game. Slugging is the action of downing a survivor and intentionally not putting them on the hook. In Identity V, the equivalent would be intentionally not chairing a person after downing them.

Many people think that the term slugging relates to punching or brawling. It makes sense if the intention of the term is to throw punches around until all the survivors go down. Unfortunately, this theory is incorrect. The REAL reason is that survivors that go down crawl around really slowly, which makes them look like a slug.

So why do people slug?

Slugging is actually an important tool within a hunter’s toolbox. In fact, there is a hunter named Percy that can only eliminate survivors through slugging since his traits make it so that he can’t chair survivors at all. However, he is an exception. Let’s go over the reasons to actually use slugging as a “regular” hunter.

Firstly, you don’t waste time picking up a survivor and bringing them to a chair. Secondly, by keeping a survivor off a chair, it means that the other survivors can’t instantly save the chaired survivor. Lastly, you don’t have to guard the chaired survivor and stay in one spot. Thus, slugging gives the hunter more time to track down or prevent the other survivors from rushing the cipher machines.

Let’s take a look at what happens when a hunter slugs (in an ideal situation). Firstly, the slugged survivor will not be able to do much. Secondly, unless the downed survivor has Exit Path, a second survivor will have to pick them up. Thirdly, you’ll be able to chase down one more survivor. This leaves us, at best, with one more survivor working on cipher machines. In other words, the hunter gets to stall the game while leaving “free damage” on the survivor team, which in turn makes it easier to down those survivors again.

However, there are some downsides to slugging as well. What happens if a hunter did not hit anybody else before the other survivors pick up the slugged survivor? Essentially, the hunter has wasted all that time and did not get any closer to killing a player.

As you can see, slugging is not a simple choice to make. It is an investment and a risk to leave a survivor on the ground. A hunter needs to assess their current situation and the possible outcomes from choosing to slug rather than doing it blindly.

Why is slugging considered toxic in Identity V?

The primary reason that people (survivor mains in particular) consider slugging to be toxic is that it’s boring and impacts their gaming experience. Slugging, at its core, is about locking out a player from being able to contribute to their team. And that makes for a rather negative experience. It also causes the game to go longer if the hunter is not skilled enough to close out the game with the advantages he created.

It’s a lose-lose situation for our poor hunters. If they slug in Quick Matches, they’re called toxic because they’re a tryhard or making the game not quick. If they slug in Ranked Matches, they’re hated because it wastes time and there is a limited window each day to queue for Ranked. Despite that, as we went over in the points above, slugging actually does serve a purpose. If a hunter is slugging with the intention of winning, it’s generally not seen as toxic (although there will always be contention from whiny survivors).

However, if a hunter has managed to down all the survivors and is slugging just to run around, waste time or show off, that is without a doubt a toxic thing to do. This is especially bad if the hunter has killed two or three survivors and intentionally slugs the last one for no reason, as it is already a guaranteed victory.

Is Forza Horizon 5 The Best Racing Game Ever Made? | Brad’s Reviews

It’s been a month plus since Forza Horizon 5 came out and we just can’t hide our excitement for it.

Though this may come as no surprise as Forza Horizon games have always been way ahead of their time in terms of graphic design and open-world concept seals the deal for many racing game fans.

With Forza Horizon 5, Playground Studios has hit the spot once again. Usually, when it comes to sports or racing games, it would feel like the same content, same graphics and exactly the same gameplay. But, not for Forza Horizon 5. This game is a proper upgrade from its predecessor, Horizon 4. It definitely raises the bar for other open-world racing games.

From the lighting, effects to the architecture details, Forza Horizon 5 has significantly upgraded in its visual standpoint. Not only is the map humongous, but there are more custom parts that players can enjoy, more performance mods as well as cars that have more character and detail than any other racing game. Even if you have a standard pair of speakers or headphones, you can still hear the sound of engines revving through the streets of Mexico.

Starting Forza Horizon 5

When you start the campaign, you get to test out different terrains and different cars. This game introduces you to the world that is very Fast and Furious-esque, from a plane. That’s right. You get thrown out of a plane and race your way to the Horizon event. There’s even a scene where you drive in a sandstorm. That’s right, a freaking sandstorm like Mad Max. We wonder if we’ll get a Mad Max collab eventually.

In Forza Horizon 4, fans get to enjoy the vast and colourful countryside of Great Britain. It represented the condensed versions of Edinburgh, the Scottish Highlands, the Lake District, Ambleside, Cotswolds, Bamburgh and more. This time, players get to journey through a highly detailed Mexico.

To date, this is the biggest map in the entire Horizon series. In fact, this game is 50% larger than Forza Horizon 4.

Since the pandemic hit, all of us have missed travelling and visiting different countries and experiencing new things. Though travel restrictions are much looser now than it was last year, many are still cautious in travelling.

Forza Horizon 5 New Features

In Forza Horizon 5, it makes you feel like you’re actually in Mexico, driving through different cities and terrains in real-time. Not only that, there’s no speed limit and you get to experience the power of a high-end car, like the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera or the Ferrari LaFerrari.

It comes as a rather exotic and exquisite array of environments that fans of the Horizon series can easily get lost in. However, the game’s tapestry of colourful locations closely resembles Horizon 3.

The Cars

It’s not a racing game, let alone driving, without a wide selection of cars. Sticking true to its roots, Forza Horizon 5 has over 500 vehicles players can choose from. Though some were available in the older series, 500 is a huge amount for players to choose from.

Apart from the cars, there’s also a huge selection of performance modifications and rims that you can easily customise on your car.

Additionally, the handling of the cars is both fascinating and easy to make them feel more realistic. Though there are moments that poses a challenge, overall it is a joy to control.

Forza Motorsport 7 is a TRUE simulated racing game. It’s what you would expect from a racing game. Like all Forza games, the details in both graphics and sound design is what makes this game so attractive.

Overall

What sets this game from any other racing game is that it has been significantly upgraded. From its graphics to sound design to gameplay. I think that Forza Horizon 5  is undoubtedly the KING of Racing Games to date. I also believe that watching gameplay or cutscenes does not do it justice as you should experience the game while playing it at least once in your lifetime.

If I’m being nitpicky, however, the biggest complaint I have about this game is that the character you control has a voice now. It takes away the mysteriousness of the character that we enjoyed in Horizon 4. Apart from that,  some of the side quests can be tedious and I felt that it wastes a bit of time.

Overall it’s a fabulous game.

Serious Sam 4

It comes with great surprise that the classic Serious Sam 4 is now out on Xbox Game Pass. One of the main reasons why everyone is raving about this game all of the sudden is the fact that it was put up on the Xbox Game Pass service as a surprise launch and it’s finally available on the console.

Serious Sam 4 is a first-person shooter in which you defend earth from an army of extraterrestrial invaders. In addition to a single-player campaign, the alien shooter also includes a co-op mode for up to four players.

Brad’s Favourite Moments From The Game Awards 2021

What did you think of The Game Awards 2021? Did your favourite game of the year win any awards this year, or were they snubbed?

For me, it felt rather underwhelming. Sure, it was nice to have another Elden Ring trailer and to see Sting and Imagine Dragons was fun, but overall, it just wasn’t enough. It lacked oomph and the wow factors. It was as though everything could have been done through an e-mail. However, though I felt it was lacklustre, doesn’t mean it was bad. It was still good, but our expectations were just too high.

So, to recap the award shows, I’ll be sharing some of our favourite moments from The Game Awards 2021.

Enter The Cyberpun… Matrix

I can’t help it. Keanu Reeves may have played several iconic roles including John Wick, Neo and many more, but I tend to always see him as the ghost rocker in Cyberpunk 2077, Johnny Silverhand. And, come to think of it, Cyberpunk 2077 does feel a bit like the Matrix… right?

Anywho, it was nice to see The Matrix at the Game Awards. Though, not much was shown except a brand new teaser for the upcoming The Matrix 4: Resurrection, however, the highlight of the segment was seeing Unreal Engine 5. The Matrix introduced a brand new Unreal Engine 5 experience and let’s just say that the CG graphics just looks gorgeous.

This experience basically gives us a little glimpse as to how next-gen gaming will look like. From details to gameplay mechanics, this is something all of us should look forward to.

Elden Ring Wins The Most Anticipated Game

Yes, it wasn’t God of War sadly, and to say I was disappointed would be an understatement. But, I would soon be proven wrong. My emotions were wobbled when they said there was a brand new Elden Ring trailer. My heart brighten up a little. Then, they showed a cool camera pan of The Tarnished (the mc) and a really cool fight scene and all I said was Bandai Namco, take my money.

They showed an OP looking Boss taking on Tarnished and the intensity of the battle matched with the narration and animation is just spectacular. I really enjoyed it and I think Bandai Namco really did a good job with the game.
Elden Ring is set to come out on 24 February next year.

Back-To-Back Bangers With Dying Light 2 and CrossFireX

Now, I usually won’t be excited over a game where zombies are involved. I’m too much of scaredy-cat to play horror games (Yes, I wasn’t too excited for The Last of Us too – both 1 and 2) but looking at the brand new trailer for Dying Light 2 it looks pretty good. I wouldn’t say I will play it, but it’s definitely a game where I will at least read about.

Then came CrossfireX. An upcoming first-person shooter that’ll be on the Xbox Series X and S as well as Xbox One.
From the trailer itself not only get a better look at how the game will look like, but we also got a launch date. 10 February 2022 is the day CrossfireX will release. The trailer looks intense and promising. Almost feels like a Call of Duty Ghost meets Quantum Leap meets Detroit: Beyond Human type of game and I’m all for it.

Star Wars Taking Gamers To The High Republic

If you’re a comic book fan or a fan of Star Wars in general, then chances are you would have heard of The High Republic. It’s a brand new era where the Galactic Republic is at its peak, before the Old Republic and Imperial Era of course. Not going to spoil everything for you here and now but it is a good read.

Speaking of spoiling, The Game Awards and Lucasfilms Games definitely spoiled us with this one. They released a trailer which showed us Jedis fighting, Jedis with different coloured lightsabers and Master Yoda. It’ll be a multi-character narrative game by Quantic Dream (creators of Detroit: Beyond Human, Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls, and more!). Looking at the studio’s reputation, you would know that the graphics will likely be spectacular.

Wonder Woman Reveal

Yes, yes, I know. I’m as shocked as you to be honest, and finally a Wonder Woman game! Not only is it any Wonder Woman game, it is developed by Monolith Productions, the studio behind Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War as well as F.E.A.R.
This reveal, that nobody has guessed is worthy to be the BEST moment of The Game Awards in my books.
