FFXIV: How to unlock Namazu Beast Tribe quest

The Namazu beast tribe is the latest addition of beast tribe in patch 4.3 of Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood. Unlike the Kojin and Ananta, the Namazu offers daily quests only for the Disciple of Hand and Land, you can’t do this with a battle class.

How to unlock Namazu Beast Tribe quest

Now, if you’re familiar with the Moogle beast tribe of Heavensward, you’ll know that unlocking a crafting/gathering beast tribe takes a bit of time since they require certain side quests to be completed prior. Here’s our quick guide on how to unlock Namazu Beast Tribe quest to get you started! Remember, you need a level 60 Disciple of Hand/Land to do the Namazu dailies.

The easiest way to go about this is to make sure you finish your MSQ and get them up to date before starting on this. Or else, you’ll find yourself stuck halfway since there’s a crossover quest from the newly added Under the Moonlight MSQ. If you’ve got that sorted out, let’s begin by teleporting to Yanxia. Even though the patch note says you’ll find the Floundering Namazu in The Azim Steppe to start the tribe quest, it won’t show up until you’ve completed this chain first.

Onwards to Yanxia!

• Perchance to Hanami (X:30.3, Y:18.3)
• Gyorin the Namazu (X:15.4, Y:32.2)
• No Wealth Like Mineral Wealth (X:16.8, Y:31.1)
• Flesh Flesh (X:15.4, Y:32.2)
• Show Me the New Money (X:15.4, Y:32.2)
• Amber Alert (X:15.0 Y:31.6)

Now the next quest’s prerequisite is a level 64 MSQ quest – All the Little Angels. The next set of quests are also in Yanxia.

• Courage the Cowardly Lupin (X:30.9, Y:17.8)
• Kurobana vs. the Rice Sacks (X:30.9, Y:17.8)
• Kurobana vs. the Arrowheads (X:30.9, Y:17.8)
• Kurobana vs. Gyorin X:30.9, Y:17.8)
• Kurobana Holmes (X:30.9, Y:17.8)

Next, once you’ve done all these, head over to the Azim Steppe. Open your map and you should see the special side quest blurple marker with a plus over at (X:17.4 Y:37.5). Finally, you will see the Floundering Namazu waiting for you to begin Something Fishy This Way Comes. Do remember to switch to any level 60 Disciple of Hand or Land Class to pick this quest up.
