Join in with over 800,000 other Slayers tomorrow (May 24) to defend the Shattered Isles against the rage of the Behemoths in Dauntless! Revealed back in December 2016, the PC’s take on monster hunting was playable in the form of a closed beta since September 1, 2017. During this time, Pheonix Labs collected data and feedback from players in order to improve the thrill-of-the-hunt experience. It currently is worked on by a team of over 40 people, with some individuals from Bioware and Blizzard. Check out the intro cinematic above.

What does it mean to be Dauntless?

Dauntless is a free-to-play open-world action-RPG which can be played either solo or co-op. Players will freely hunt the beasts lurking in the world, gorgeously rendered by the Unreal Engine. Players are given a questline to follow but can break off from the linearity by hunting down anything they care to discover. In case the f2p aspect worries you, don’t fret as for now it is only limited to cosmetics and temporary stat boosts. Explore the versatile world and collect any resources you find along the way to prepare you for the hunt. Upgrade your weapons and armor, and squad up with friends to take down your massive adversaries. After the main campaign, even more menacing challenges await players in Dauntless’ endgame.

Join the Hunt!

The servers are currently down to prepare for the launch of the Beta, but don’t worry. You can register when servers go on a rolling start-up between 10 AM and 12 PM PT Thursday, May 24. Join 800,000 other Slayers in the quest to, well, slay the legion of beasts scattered across the Forgotten Isles. Go here for registration.
