According to reports by Kotaku, Rockstar Games will release a remastered version of the classic Grand Theft Auto Trilogy (GTA III, GTA Vice City and GTA San Andreas).
It is rumoured that the remastered versions will be available on Google Stadia, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox X, mobile devices and yes, even on the Nintendo Switch.
The report by Kotaku suggests that the remaster will include a mixture of new and old graphics.
Moreover, the UI of the games will get enough update to improve its clarity. However, the classic visual styles will remain. The gameplay will likely remain the same, if not as close to the original.
The titles are part of Rockstar Games’ “3D Universe” which include its PS2 era of the Grand Theft Auto series.
According to the reports by Kotaku, Rockstar Dundee, previously known as Ruffian, is leading the charge on the development.
The studio previously worked on Crackdown 2 and 3 and assisting with the development on the Halo Master Chief Collection.
It was rumored earlier this year that GTA 6 will only be ready by 2025. Looking back at Rockstar’s reputation, we’re sure it will be well worth the wait.
