Recently, PlayOverwatch released a tweet with this caption: [DECLASSIFIED] After-Action Report: Operation “WHITE DOME.” Many players are speculating that it might be a tease for an Overwatch new hero.
Attached to the tweet is an image of the following text:

Strike team under the command of myself, CAPTAIN ANA AMARI, was deployed to the outskirts of Istanbul, Turkey to deal with a remaining pocket of omnic resistance. Personnel included Lieutenant Reinhardt Wilhelm, Chief Engineer Torbjorn Lindholm, and Private First Class Emre Sarioglu. After routine insertion, the team was ambushed, taking heavy fire from the entrenched omnics. While the team was able to overcome and neutralize all hostile combatants without casualties, the battle resulted in serious injuries to Lindholm and lesser injury to Lt. Wilhelm. Had it not been killed. Due to conspicuous bravery on the part of Lt. Wilhelm, I am suggesting a commendation for his actions.

Hero 27

So here’s the fun part, the speculating. Beyond that short message, nothing else was released about this new hero. The only other time we’ve heard about Hero 27 is back in the developer’s update at the beginning of the year. Even then, all we really knew about Hero 27 was that they were “awesome” and “needed.”
Now, we know that the hero has something to do with Overwatch before they disbanded. This certainly moves things forward in terms of lore. Just by glancing at the paragraph, people are speculating that it could be Private First Class Emre Sarioglu as that was the only name we didn’t recognize.
It could also be the report writer but it’s very likely that it was Jack Morrison who wrote it. It shouldn’t be too long now before they release the hero. The hero was already in testing by 2018. Give or take a few weeks, we should be looking at an official release.
I don’t know about you guys but I’m more excited about the lore! What do you think? Let us know! For Jeff Kaplan’s response, see here.
