Morrowind will not have remastered edition

If you are hoping for one. TOO BAD. The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind is the one of the most sought-after remasters for its series. The game garnered a big hype back in 2002 when it was released. Despite a large number of fans asking for a remaster, Todd Howard himself has confirmed that Morrowind will not be getting a remastered edition.

Bethesda should get a new TES series

Bethesda showcased their upcoming games for their current franchises during E3 2018 last month. Personally, I am looking forward to Fallout:76 and The Elder Scrolls VI. Knowing that Skyrim has been holding onto its series for 7 years, it’s about time it gets a sequel. As for multiplayer expectations, those will very likely be crushed since that would defeat the purpose of The Elder Scrolls Online (TESO)’s Morrowind expansion.

Here are some potential reasons why Bethesda isn’t too keen on remastering the classic besides the obvious reason being to focus on TESVI. First of all, not everyone knows the older series of TES. Getting the initial batch of players back won’t be easy. To put it simply, they know they can’t achieve the same numbers that managed back when it was released. Secondly, with Skyrim being the title commonly known as the starting platform for newcomers. They might expect Morrowind to be similar to Skyrim and ends up disappointed if it’s not their cup of tea.

Should I replay Morrowind?

Morrowind for me and many fans is considered as a pioneer who set the stage for single player RPG. Definitely give it a shot if you’re an RPG fan plus, why not? We’re waiting on TESVI anyways. However, don’t expect the same level of polish to Dragon’s Dogma or The Witcher franchise. That aside, Dragon’s Dogma is another great game to try if it was only for the sake of relieving the Skyrim experience.
