World Cup 2018 has football fans hyped across the globe. Besides the World Cup, recent news is Cristiano Ronaldo has just signed over to Juventus from Real Madrid. Considered as one of the greatest of all time, Cristiano Ronaldo moving to a new club is surely big news for football fans.
EA Sports Affected?
How is this related to gaming? Players moving from one club to another is nothing new, it happens all the time. Problem is, EA Sports is using Cristiano Ronaldo in his Real Madrid jersey for the upcoming FIFA19. Usually, this type of errors is easily corrected with an update or patch.

But in this case, it is no small matter for EA as Cristiano Ronaldo is not only on the cover wearing the Real Madrid jersey, he is also used in the Career Mode as a Real Madrid player as well. If they don’t make any changes, aside from seeing Cristiano Ronaldo on the cover with the Real Madrid jersey, it is annoying for football fans who are looking forward to playing Ronaldo in Juventus but instead, he is still in Real Madrid in the game.
Cristiano Ronaldo has signed with Juventus. Meanwhile, EA is having a fucking meltdown because FIFA 19 has him on the cover in a R. Madrid shirt and story mode has Alex Hunter teaming with him. Game over. pic.twitter.com/a6mznRQBaK

Now you can see the big problem for EA, as they have centered their marketing for FIFA19 around Cristiano Ronaldo. This will surely put a dent in their plans but, they still have time to rectify this. Whether they take immediate action regarding this matter is a different case altogether. This goes to show that they need to properly think when choosing a poster boy.
FIFA19 will be heading to the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch on September 28, 2018, worldwide.
