So as you find yourself with time to kill, perhaps you’re looking to break up your old, regular routines with new things to get into. And for that, right now there’s no better time to break up old routines by trying out some new video games!

This article will outline 8 of the most popular games that are selling for under RM30 on Steam as of 4 March 2026. They may be priced higher or lower, depending on when you are reading and whether or not there are discounts offered by Steam. This article will also include some of my own opinions on the listed games, so take some of these writings with a grain of salt. 1. Super Battle Golf

First up, it’s Super Battle Golf!

Super Battle Golf is currently trending for its chaotic premise and shoot-your-friends-in-the-back competitive gameplay. In Super Battle Golf, your golf course is now a warzone and your objective is to sink your ball before your friends (enemies) do.

During a round of Super Battle Golf, you can expect to find items scattered around the golf course. They will help you do one of two things: The first thing it will help you do is get you and your golf ball sinked first. The second is to throw your friends and/or their golf balls off, preferably off of a cliff so they don’t sink before you. It’s a bit like Mario Kart, but only this time you’re playing golf and you can kneecap your friends as well.

Give Super Battle Golf a try if golf with explosions & friendly fire sounds like fun. For just RM20: it’s excellent, if a bit unhinged, fun for a good price.

2. Tom Clancy’s The Division 2

Ubisoft’s Acclaimed looter-shooter The Division 2 is currently on sale for really good prices on Steam at the moment. And currently, it’s the 2nd most popular game in terms of sales for under RM30.

Set after a worldwide pandemic wreaks havoc on the U.S, The Division 2 lets you engage in hectic, cover-based combat on the streets of Washington D.C. Like any other looter shooter, you loot & craft cutting-edge gear for your character. And as you play, you can learn new skills and lean into playing specific roles to face dynamic challenges with your team or on your own.

The Division 2 currently retails for RM9.90 for the standard edition with no add ons. To get both its Warlords of New York and Battle for Brooklyn expansions, you will need to top up to RM29.85 for its Gold Edition. And since this is a looter shooter: expect to do some grinding before jumping into harder content. There won’t be a lot of grinding like Warframe or Black Desert, but there will be some grinding you’ll need to do. If you like looter shooters, you can give The Division a go. It’s in a good spot at the moment.

3. PEAK

PEAK is a multiplayer, co-op, adventure & survival game where you & your friends are lost on a mysterious island, and must climb its mountain to be rescued.

PEAK’s strengths lie in its cartoon-like artstyle & cooperative gameplay. With every cliff you scale & every platform you jump onto, you & your friends slowly but surely make progress toward scaling the mountain. The mountains in PEAK are highly unique as well, with each map presenting new terrains & crossings to face. That means, with each passing day: PEAK brings new challenges & new views to climb for.

PEAK is currently retailing for RM13 on Steam. It can be surprisingly difficult, and it actively encourages cooperation between you & your friends. It’s worth mentioning that you can still climb solo if you’re brave enough, though it does get exponentially easier when you work with friends. If you enjoy a cozy artstyle & want to experience hiking without any of the sweat (though I won’t guarantee no tears), do give PEAK a try.

4. R.E.P.O.

Don’t like working alone? Try R.E.P.O.

Short for: “The Retrieve, Extract, & Profit Operation,” R.E.P.O. is an online co-op horror game with physics, scary monsters, & proximity voice chat. You & up to 5 friends play as robots working for an artificial intelligence, and are tasked with retrieving valuables among ruins of long-gone humanity.

You’ve probably seen R.E.P.O. in clips online or heard of it before. Gaming clips featuring its wide-eyed, robotic characters went viral in 2024 as players’ antics in R.E.P.O. swept across social media. Its physics interactions play a role during gameplay as well, as some valuables are destructible, and can be damaged if not carried with care. This is a game you can play with both friends and strangers, and it’s sure to deliver some heart-pounding moments and cooperative highs.

5. The Crew: Motorfest

The Crew: Motorfest is an open-world racing game set on the island of O’ahu, Hawaii. You play as a driver in a motoring festival called the Motorfest, and you celebrate car culture & motorsport on the island by racing in events & exploring the open world. With over 700+ cars to choose from, Motorfest lets players explore car brands and car cultures at their own pace.

The Crew: Motorfest stands as an alternative to Forza’s acclaimed Horizon series. And as of 4/3/2026, it’s good value at RM 22.90. It’s not as polished as Horizon nor detailed enough for hardcore motorsport lovers. But, there’s loads of events & playlists to explore in Motorfest, and it’s more than enough racing game for the casual enthusiast’s money. 

As a Forza player, I’ve found myself wanting to explore and try many of the cars that exist in Motorfest but simply aren’t available in Forza. And according to some player reviews, the physics & gameplay in Motorfest is comparable to Forza’s own physics and gameplay. I can’t say for sure that I agree since I prefer Forza’s physics. But if you want to explore motorsport in general and do some racing in your spare time, I recommend Motorfest.

6. Black Desert

Released in 2015, Black Desert is a sandbox-oriented MMORPG by Korean games studio Pearl Abyss.

As an MMORPG, Black Desert is more of a choose-your-own-adventure game rather than a combat-heavy & loot focused title like World of Warcraft. There is traditional combat between players and enemies, but what makes Black Desert unique is that there’s other activities that you can dive into instead. Activities like cooking, fishing, animal breeding, and trading are all in-game professions that players can learn & take part in during a play session.

Additionally, Black Desert has great graphics, loads more activities to do, and a very in-depth character customisation system. But be warned: This game is very grindy, and current gameplay reviews are mixed on Steam due to player criticisms about its current art direction (like modern outfits & fashion trends in a medieval setting.) If you like MMORPGs or would like to explore an MMORPG, Black Desert should give you a full MMORPG experience.

7. RV There Yet?

Developed by new games studio Nuggets Entertainment in Skövde, Sweden: RV There Yet is a more deadpan comedic entry into the co-op game scene. RV There Yet? is an indie co-op game where you & your friends are on a relaxing vacation in an RV. And on your way home, you are forced to take a detour through dangerous and unpredictable roads. Your goal in RV There Yet is to get back home with the RV, and make sure that everyone and the RV survives the journey.

RV There Yet is unique because of its sandbox-style cooperative gameplay. During your journey, you can expect to build makeshift bridges & improvise solutions to problems you might face on your way home. Problems like river crossings & RV repairs are common, though all of these problems can be solved with some quick wit & elbow grease. And thanks to a lot of physics-based objects & surprisingly detailed models, RV There Yet has a surprising amount of attention to detail.

While manually repairing the RV & cooking just to survive sounds tedious, the game encourages teamwork & communication with your friends. You can expect to bring friends closer together by working as a team, or test some friendships with this title. RV There Yet currently retails for RM21.75 on Steam, and personally: I think it’s a pretty novel game that’s worth trying.

8. HITMAN

The first installment, purchase via HITMAN World of Assassination

As of 4/3/2026, You can get Hitman 1 for just RM7.20. If that sounds like a steal, that’s because it is a steal. Yes, it’s only the first game, and you will find yourself missing out on many other missions. But for a AAA title, RM7.20 is a bargain and presents excellent value for a game to fill your spare time.

HITMAN 1 is the first installment of IO Interactive’s HITMAN trilogy, an expansion of their HITMAN series of games. You play as Agent 47, and your goals are to hunt down & eliminate members & affiliates of Providence, the franchise’s enemy organisation. HITMAN lets you choose your approaches to accomplish your goals, and each map allows you to explore many different options & improvise if needed.

Whether you prefer the stealthiest approaches or the loudest, guns-blazing style: HITMAN 1 is a highly, highly replayable game. Even with the limited maps available for under RM30, it presents an opportunity to explore the HITMAN franchise & try out a fun, sandbox-style stealth game. For the price, it’s too hard to miss.
