Fans of the co-op third person shooter, Warframe rejoice as there are new updates coming soon. At the most recent TennoCon, the developers have announced several new details regarding the Warframe updates.
One of the main features that got fans excited for was the inclusion of a crossplay and cross-save feature. With this update, players will no longer need to choose or be separated by the platform they’re playing on. Players can play on console together with PC players and vice versa. Additionally, this update also means that it will be available simultaneously for PC and consoles. The cross-save functionality will also allow players to seamlessly use their account on different platforms.
In fact, there’ll soon be a mobile version coming soon.
Though it’s a long time coming, creative director, Steve Sinclair explained back in 2019 that it’s one of the highest risks for Digital Extremes. He hinted that the challenge was not just on Warframe and its wildly varied expansions.
With this news, fans are raving that they can now play Warframe with their friends regardless of of the platform. In a press release by Digital Extremes COO, Sheldon Carter, he mentioned that the “Community is incredibly important to us and opening up Cross Play and Cross Save is just one of many more efforts we’ll take on to bring more players together including extending Warframe’s fast, fluid, action combat experience to other global gaming platforms,”
There’s no mention on the release date as of yet but Digital Extremes, the studio who worked on Warframe saod that they are close to finishing this feature.
Enter The New War
Apart from the crossplay and cross-save announcement, we’ve also have a clear update on The New War expansion. This expansion will be the next chapter in Warframe’s questline. Moreover, it promises to provide the answers fans have been dying to know since The Second Dream. The New War is set to release some time this year and we cannot wait to play it.
As far as we’re aware, this war seems to only be a conflict between the Tenno and Sentients, but it has turned universal. It was also revealed at TennoCon 2021 that there will be two new characters, Grineer soldier Kahl 175 and Corpus engineer Veso. They were shown in The New War trailer where it puts players in the view of Teshin, the Conclave master.
It is known that we can play with characters outside of the Tenno, and not in the typical Warframe manner. We wonder, will this create a desperate alliance with all the factions to quell the Sentient invasion?
Warframe’s last update was Sisters of Parvos, which introduced players to new enemy types and added a new water-based frame.
If you’re wondering, SEAGM has Steam Wallet Codes available of course.
