A month ago in November, Stardew Valley creator Eric Barone gave fans a glimpse of upcoming single-player content alongside the much anticipated multiplayer update. Yesterday, the publisher itself, Chucklefish, dropped a new teaser. It seems like Stardew Valley multiplayer is getting closer to release.

Stardew Valley Multiplayer
Previously, the teaser image showed just a boat but the latest image was more revealing. With its metal structure and aquatic backdrop, we could be looking at a submarine. It’s no doubt that we’re getting underwater content by the looks of it.
In their recent blog post, Chucklefish confirms that there will a PS Vita port and it will support cross-buy. This means, if you already have the game on your PlayStation 4, you do not have to repurchase it for the Vita. It is worth noting, however, the PS Vita port will not include the multiplayer update.
Initially planned for release in 2017, the multiplayer has been pushed back to early 2018. But, we get a solid estimation from the team that the release will be in Q1 of 2018. The reason for the delay is that they are making room for polishing and quality assurance. Check out the blog post here to read more on inter-player marriage and expanded festivals.
