The Square Enix E3 2018 showcase will probably be the most disappointing one in this year’s E3. To be fair, it was already a known fact that it will be streamed video showcase. Though, that didn’t stop the hype from building up. Come on, it’s Square Enix. We were expecting at least a sneak at Final Fantasy VII. The showcase fell flat since the Kingdom Heart x Frozen trailer was already shown during the Microsoft Xbox showcase earlier. Honestly the FFXIV x Monster Hunter: World crossover got me seriously hyped but that’s because I’m a player of both of those game. I can’t say everyone else feels the same. We rate this Square Enix showcase 5/10 🙁
The quick 30 minutes video showcase kicked off with a Shadow of the Tomb Raider gameplay video. Since it’s pretty short, we’ll list down all the game they show or you can watch it above!

Square Enix E3 2018 Showcase

  • Shadow of the Tomb Raider gameplay.
  • FFXIV x Monster Hunter: World event teaser, coming in Summer 2018
  • The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirits, a free game to introduce the next game in the Life is Strange series.
  • Dragon Quest 11, coming in September 2018.
  • NieR Automata coming to Xbox One. Become as Gods Edition includes all DLC. Coming in June 26
  • Babylon’s Fall by Platinium Inc. Coming in 2019.
  • Octopath Traveler, RPG for Nintendo Switch. Coming July 13, 2018.
  • Just Cause 4 trailer showcasing extreme weather disasters! Coming December 4, 2018.
  • A new game, The Quiet Man. More details in August. Looks like a mash-up of live action and gameplay! Pretty cool.
  • Kingdom Heart III x Frozen trailer. Coming January 29.

That’s pretty much the whole show. It wasn’t very impressive since the Kingdom Heart III trailer is just a rerun. Hopefully, Final Fantasy VII will make an appearance in Sony’s showcase later. That game’s remake is getting real close to becoming the next Half-Life 3. In case you missed out on the showcases from yesterday, here’s Microsoft Xbox’s and here’s Bethesda’s.
