[Update] Sora is finally here! If you’ve already purchased the second Fighters Pass (which includes , Min-Min, Steve & Alex from Minecraft, Sephiroth, Pyra/Mythra, and Kazuya) for $29.99 (around RM 124.86 after conversion), you can update the game and get him in your roster, or you can get him as a standalone Challenger Pack 11 for $5.99 (around RM 24.94 after conversion).
[Original] The time has come! The character we’ve all been waiting for has finally arrived to the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate universe! The final character coming to the vast Smash world is none other than, Sora from Kingdom Hearts. After 6 years of asking, Nintendo has listened and gave us fans the character we wanted. Sora joins the cast of Smash Bros. fighters as the 82nd and last DLC character in the game.
During the livestream, Super Smash Bros. game director Masahiro Sakurai recalled a community poll, which ran from April to October of 2015. Fans voted in a completely open-ended ballot for the video game character, but no winner was announced, until now. Sakurai revealed that the winner for that poll was Sora and that he was a runaway fan favourite.
Sora will be released on Oct. 18 in the Challenger Pack 11. He’ll be rounding out the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s second Fighters Pass, which previously added Kazuya Mishima from Tekken, Min Min from Arms, Steve and Alex from Minecraft, Sephiroth from Final Fantasy 7, and Pyra and Mythra from Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
Sakurai further expressed his gratitude that “Every single fighter has their own developer, stakeholder, game world, and fans. Being entrusted to develop a game using those fighters has been a special experience and a true honor.”
Although Sora will be joining the cast of fighters in the Smash Universe, unfortunately Mickey and his Disney friends from Kingdom Hearts will not be joining him on his battles.
Additionally, Nintendo also announced that the Square Enix’s Kingdom Hearts trilogy will be coming to the Nintendo Switch console.
Apart from Sora, we’ll also get to see Doom Slayer as a Mii fighter. In other words, he’ll finally be able to team up with his best friend, Isabelle from Animal Crossing.

This is a great announcement as it was a double win for fans of Smash Bros.
One, we finally get to know who the last DLC character is. Two, we finally know who was the fan favourite in the 6-year-old community poll.
Nintendo also revealed something we always wanted to know. What would Kirby look like when he assumes Sora’s form?
