We (and pretty much everyone else) called it! Bethesda is the master of hype and surprise when it comes to dropping game announcement. Last night, they teased us with a “Please Stand By” stream on Twitch with the Vault Boy eventually taking a nap while 140,000 people were watching. This morning, they dropped a trailer revealing a new game!
The new game, as mentioned in the title, will be known as Fallout 76. It is also the name of the vault where it all begins, or at least, that was what the trailer showed. Go watch that trailer real quick above.
According to Kotaku, Fallout 76 is going to be an online multiplayer game. The game has been in development from both Bethesda Game Studios’ main office in Maryland and the Austin office. Formerly known as Battlecry Studio, the Austin office previously worked on a hero shooter called Battlecry that eventually didn’t make the cut.
If they’re making it an online MMO of some sort, I’d actually be okay with it as long as it’s not Fallout battle royale. We just have to wait two more weeks to find out the details during their conference at E3 2018! But for now, we know that the game will be available on Windows PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
