All Nintendo Switch Games To Be Released In 2018

The first Nintendo Direct of this year has been released! Let’s take a look at what Nintendo has in store for the year.

The World Ends With You

Release date: 2018
It’s been ten years since this game was first released on the Nintendo DS. Now the company has made a “Final Remix” of this anime-style action RPG. Now with enhanced graphics and a new main scenario for the storyline as well.

Pokken Tournament DX: Battle Pack

Release date: 31 Jan (Wave 1), 23 Mar (Wave 2)
Not one but two new DLC will be released for this Pokemon-themed fighting game. They will be released separately. The first wave includes a new Battle Pokemon: Aegislash and two Support Pokemon: Mega Rayquaza and Mimikyu. The second wave includes Battle Pokemon: Blastoise and again two Support Pokemon: Celebi and Mew.

Kirby Star Allies

Release date: 15 Mar
Finally, we’re shown some of the abilities in the new Kirby game: Kirby Star Allies. These new abilities include killing enemies with your art, spiderwebbing enemies and throwing your friends. The game also features a 4 player co-op so you fuse powers with your friends to clear the level.

Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition

Release date: Spring 2018
Hack and slash your way through enemy lines as your favorite characters from the Legend of Zelda Series. Every map, character, and mission from the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS Zelda games will be made available to play. There are a total of 29 playable characters and it’s co-op friendly!

Mario Tennis Aces

Release date: Spring 2018
Tennis has never been more exciting. We all know Nintendo was going to come up with another tennis game one way or another. Versus your friends in the new graphically enhanced Mario Tennis Aces. Now, it even offers a wildly creative story mode featuring all sorts of cool bosses.

Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana

Release date: Summer 2018
This action JRPG has never looked better. You play as main character Adol in the eight installments of the Ys Series. This time with an upgradeable base. Make it your adventure!

Super Mario Odyssey: Luigi’s Balloon World

Release date: February 2018
A new update is coming to Super Mario Odyssey. Just when you think the game can’t get any better. Luigi’s Balloon World is a new game mode available after you finish the main story quest. The goal is to hide your balloon in places you don’t think other players would find and pop balloons left by other players. In order to do this, you would have to fully explore each kingdom and find all the best hiding spots.
Those include:

  3. Knight Helmet & Armor

SNK Heroines Tag Team Frenzy

Release date: Summer 2018
The fan service is real with this one. But we’ll take it anyway! Basically, a 3D fighting game featuring only the female characters in the SNK Heroines. So this includes fan favorites like Athena Asamiya, Kula Diamond, Leona Heidern, Mai Shiranui and Yuri Sakazaki.

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle

Release date: Spring
A new trailer has been released revealing the newest character of the turn-based strategy game. Yes, that’s right! It’s Donkey Kong! One of Mario’s oldest enemies.

Payday 2

Release date: 27 Feb
Valve optimizes Payday 2 for the Nintendo Switch. The game is available on steam but the graphics will be enhanced on the Switch. The Switch version will also include a new playable character, Joy, a Japanese tech genius who will be available for a limited time period after the release.

Release date: 16 February
This 3D platformer brings a whole new world to the Switch. This game will utilize the Joy-con motion control to enhance gameplay and immersion. The HD rumble will let feel the soundtrack and impact of the game.

Celeste

Release date: 25 January
This 2D pixel platformer brings back retro gaming. You dodge and jump through Celeste mountain is an adorably designed pixel girl, Madeleine. Manage her stamina to sure you can get out of some sticky situations.

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze

Release date: 4 May
Finally! The beloved franchise is making its debut on the Nintendo Switch in the remastered version of Donkey Kong Country. This time, a new character is joining the roster. Funky Kong, the Kong that just keeps surfing. Now you can even play co-op mode with your friends.

Dark Souls: Remastered

Release date: 25 May
In a franchise where there’s no such thing as casuals are now coming to Switch. Need I say more?
