Spider-Man has been around for a very long time, dating back to 1962. Since then he has been one of the most popular comic book superheroes ever. The web-slinger is back in action this year in the form of a new game, Marvel’s Spider-Man. With such a rich history, there is bound to be easter eggs littered throughout the game. Here is the list of Spider-Man easter eggs you might find interesting! We do want to remind you though if you haven’t beaten the game, this list contains lots of spoilers. If that’s not a problem, let’s get into it.

Tony Stark?

Like any other game, when you start a new playthrough, there will be a cinematic cutscene. At first, you might not notice as this was quite subtle. But if you pay close attention, you will notice a post-it with “Call T.S. back. re: job offer” written on it. We can safely assume that the T.S. there is definitely referring to Tony Stark. If that isn’t enough of a tease, there is another post-it with “RR suit fabric ballistic? Call to confirm” written on it. This should be a dead ringer for Reed Richards a.k.a Mister Fantastic.

Upside down kiss

Who doesn’t remember the kissing scene between Spider-Man and Mary Jane Watson in the Sam Raimi movie? There is a reference to the scene in the game. Right after you take down the Kingpin, he will be left hanging upside down, trapped in webbing. Then our dear old Spidey zips down slowly while saying, “So should we kiss now?”.

Black and white suit

Early on, Spidey will have a chat with Yuri Watanabe. Being the jokester he is, Spidey asked if Yuri needed a date for the policeman’s ball which prompted Yuri to reply, “You got a black and white suit?”. Not thinking too much about this but the only black and white suit that comes to mind is the Symbiote suit.

Earth’s Mightiest Heroes

It won’t take you long to notice Avenger’s Tower as it is one of the tallest buildings in the game. Even though their base of operations is here, they are never around. Maybe too busy avenging elsewhere.

Things are looking Strange

Doctor Strange looked into 14,000,605 futures and saw Spidey taking a selfie at his home, Sanctum Sanctorum. Swing on by as the doc might be in another dimension seeing that he is never home.

Wakanda forever

Being a king and all, T’Challa a.k.a Black Panther is a very busy man. If there is an issue in New York that he needs to deal with, he has the Wakanda Embassy there for his use.

Excelsior!

Once you finish the museum part of the story, we see Peter and Mary Jane having a chat a diner. When Peter had to run off, Mary Jane is greeted by none other than the amazing Mr. Cameo – Stan Lee. It is nearly impossible for you to miss him unless for whatever reason you skip the cutscene.

Bully turn friend, Flash Thompson

If you are ever inside the F.E.A.S.T. building, you might come across a notice board near Martin Li’s office If you interact with it, Peter mentions what Flash Thompson is currently up to.

Photos of developers

Take a tour of the F.E.A.S.T. building, near the front entrance you should be able to see a collection of volunteer photos on the wall. An interesting fact – these photos are actually the photos of the game’s developers. Somewhat a little tribute for all their hard work.

Finger Gun Pose

Anyone here remembers the hilarious scene from Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3? Well, in that particular scene, we see Tobey Maguire doing a finger gun pose which you can actually do in the game. To do this, you just walk nearby civilians and press square (punch). Spider-Man won’t punch the civilians but instead, do certain greetings and poses. Do it until you see him doing the finger gun pose.

Marvel Netflix series

From items that you get from collecting Peter’s bag across the city to building landmarks. There are a few things that reference the Netflix series Daredevil, Iron Fist, and Jessica Jones. Sadly Luke Cage isn’t around Harlem so far.

  • Nelson & Murdock (the law firm of Matthew Murdock a.k.a Daredevil and Foggy Nelson)
  • Josie’s Bar (the bar that Matt Murdock and his friends usually hang out)
  • Rand Corporation (the company owned by Danny Rand a.k.a Iron Fist)
  • Alias Investigations (the office of Jessica Jones)
  • Fogwell’s Gym (the gym where Matt’s dad used to train)

Lockjaw

If you are a fan of the Inhumans then you probably know who Lockjaw is. Lockjaw has his very own statue in New York which replaces the iconic Wall Street bull for some reason. When you find Lockjaw, be sure to snap a photo of him for the Secret Photo Op.

Train Scene

You might remember this from Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2, where Spider-Man successfully stops a train from derailing. In the meanwhile, it didn’t go exactly as planned in the game with Spidey saying, “That totally worked last time.”

Sad Proposal

This would have been so nice if it didn’t have such a sad end. A fan was able to reach out to Insomniac via twitter to include a marriage proposal in the game. The developers were kind enough to put it in but sadly, the girlfriend broke off with the fan a few weeks before the game’s release.

Uncle Ben

This right here is a personal favorite. Any Marvel or Spider-Man fans should head on over to pay respects to dear uncle Ben. Interacting with it earns you the trophy “With Great Power…”, which is from uncle Ben’s most memorable quotes.
