Bioware recently released a video explaining details on how the story will work in Anthem. The company subsequently announced a date for the release the game’s demo. If you pre-order the game, the demo will be ready for trial on February 1. Anyways – Anthem story mode has two categories which is “Our World” and “My Story”. It combines the personal narrative of players in “My Story” with the world narrative they explore in “Our World”. This creates the perfect single-player immersion in a multiplayer setup for the world of Anthem.

Anthem story mode

“Our World” is the mode where you band with three other friends to explore the map and do quests. These quests are offered by NPCs and will take you through various locations of the world. Basically, this is the mode you will be doing when you play with friends and want to further the story. There’s also a Free Play mode where you and your friends can find loot, kill baddies or simply just take a breather and enjoy the scenery. Roaming around might lead you to places called Strongholds. These Strongholds stands are simply an obstacle that obstructs your way to the actual boss battle. Just like dungeons, you get some awesome loot at the end after you win the boss fight.
Fort Tarsis is the city in Anthem you go back to when you’re not flying or exploring the world. This will be the go-to place for you to progress your personal narrative dubbed “My Story”. You will be able to get to know your NPC crew better. Find out what they like or dislike and deepen your relationship to know about their past. These are the people that will be with you throughout most of your gameplay in Anthem. Explore around Fort Tarsis and you will be able to meet some questionable NPCs that might help you with your story – or not.

Release date of the demo and full game

Anthem is coming out on February 22, 2019, for the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. You, however, can get the demo version on EA Origin on February 1, 2019. The bad news is the demo will not be released to the public for free as you need to have Origin Access. You can also play the demo if you have preordered the game, as mentioned above.
