Here’s all you need to know about Pokémon Unite. In case you missed the news, a new Pokémon game will be releasing this month!

Pokémon Unite is a new multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game, so imagine Dota 2 or Mobile Legends but with your favourite Pokémon.

The game will be coming to the Nintendo Switch this month, July 2021 and on the Android and iOS in September 2021.

The MOBA format will be a first in the Pokémon Universe. The game was announced last year and we’re happy that it has finally come into fruition.

Like most MOBA games, Pokémon Unite will bring a 5-on-5 team battle to the arena. In a usual Pokémon game, players would be catching and training Pokémon but not this time. Each team will battle it out to gain points, the team with the most points within an allocated time, wins.

Thus far, the game has 19 Pokémon in its roster, including the beloved Charizard. There will also be more than 15 types of Held items that can improve a Pokémon’s ability.

Pokémon Unite will also allow cross-platform play between the Switch console and mobile devices, something players like us would appreciate.

The game is developed by The Pokémon Company and Tencent Games’ TiMi Studios.

Moreover, entertainment news portal, The Verge, also reported that Pokémon Unite will support a cross-progression system where players can use their Pokémon Trainer Club account or Nintendo Account on several devices. This way, players will get to retain their progress on any devices.

Looks like your Friday game night will get more exciting when Pokémon Unite is officially released.
