Where Them Games At?

Now that E3 2017 is ancient history, what did you think of it? Enjoyed the 4k Memes?

The E3 cringe compilations were quality meme material this year as well. But past the new game hype and dazzling console specs, what really settles in is the sinking disappointment.
There are too many games out there and it’s impossible for publishers and developers to showcase each and every one of their projects (if there was any progress at all).
The event days pass and we’re eventually left without a single glimpse or shed of information of the game(s) we really wanted to see.
So to rub salt in our fresh wounds, here’s a list of the MIA games of E3 2017 arranged in no particular order.

Red Dead Redemption 2

Now, this should’ve been an expected let down. Rockstar Games have the notorious habit of not showing up in E3. As previously demonstrated by the no-show of their recent two Grand Theft Auto installments. Regardless, they’ve shown that they don’t need E3’s exposure to sell games. Still, fans are always keeping their eyes peeled for Rockstar’s next move.

Last of Us 2

This was the biggest disappearing act of the convention. There were speculations about Kingdom Hearts III and Halo 6 being a no-show but no one expected the 2013 mega-hit to be MIA this E3. After the bone-chilling trailer released in 2016, fans prepared their bodies for a fantastic follow-up at E3 but got a spoonful of disappointment instead. However, you’ll be pleased to know that the game will be appearing in PSX this December, so look out for that!

Halo 6

It’s been two years since we’ve heard from Microsoft about the final chapter of the Reclaimer Trilogy. We last saw Cortana essentially achieving galactic peace through the eradication of sentient life as we know it. Halo 5 put a fullstop on that chapter and left the fans to fend for themselves. Merciless. It seems, this year will be no different. Sorry, folks.

Death Stranding

Well, if there is one person who’s earned an E3 break, it’s Hideo Kojima. After ending his 30 year career with Konami, Kojima leaves behind his Metal Gear legacy to drop us this bomb, known as Death Stranding.
The eerie trailer and appearance of famous actors Norman Reedus (aka Daryl Dixon) and Mads Mikkelsen (aka Hannibal Lecter) stole everyone’s attention back in E3 2016 but sadly did not follow up this year. But with Kojima’s reputation for delaying, comes his promise for high quality games. Maybe E3 2018? Hopefully?

Infamous 3?

The new Infamous game has not been confirmed but we do know Sucker Punch is working on something but they’re not very good at sharing. It’s been 3 years since the release of Infamous: Second Son, Sucker Punch, give us something!

Starfield

The mysterious Sci-Fi game supposedly under Bethesda’s wing remains a mystery this year as well. This year, Bethesda’s showcase seems to be centered around The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim. Fans had expected to be introduced newer projects but the conference was merely a showcase of old content made new with no sign of Starfield.
That concludes our sulk-fest. But don’t stay disappointed for too long. Keep your heads raised and eyes peeled because E3 is not the only place to find news. And there’s always next year.
