Various members from VALORANT’s production team said that this Battlepass was inspired by community jokes and memes.
“For the accessories, we tried to incorporate a lot more jokes and memes into this Battlepass, especially since players really seemed to enjoy some of the more meme stuff we’d put into others,” said Art Lead, Sean Marino.
“There’s a few sprays and cards inspired by community jokes or memes, but I’ll let the community guess which ones those are. The Follow Me Buddy is probably the best buddy we’ve ever put in a Battlepass, so I suggest paying close attention to it,” said Senior Producer, Preeti Khanolkar.

Other than that, this is also the first Battlepass to feature a Phantom, Vandal, and Operator skin. The Artisan and Varnish skins feature an aesthetic that depicts luxury high-end materials, while the Nitro skins are very graphic and flashy.

New Fracture Map
Fracture is the seventh VALORANT map. In its simplest form, the map is marked by its H-shape layout with a visual split down the middle that reveals contrasting sides. Long zip lines also connect routes underneath.
Fracture is also the first map to feature interactive objects that players can utilize. For lore junkies, Fracture is also our first exposure to the Mirror Earth Kingdom. According to Riot, the map expands on the Mirrorverse and reveals more information about Kingdom.
A relevant lore cinematic video that you might be interested in is DUALITY, which was released back in May this year. The video goes over some of the recent events that Kingdom was involved in and alludes to the importance of Radianite as an in-universe material.
Fracture’s Unique H-layout
Joe Lansford, Level Designer of VALORANT talks about the origins of Fracture and how the H-shaped layout came to be.
“The idea for the map came from a simple question: ‘What if?’ Specifically, what if attackers started on both sides of the map, pinching defenders? We really wanted to ask players to rethink some fundamental assumptions and give them unique problems to solve. For example, for whom is the neutral space really for? From there, the goals just all focused on supporting that ‘what if.’ The H-shape of the map, the neutral spaces, the ziplines, everything is built to reinforce that core idea.”
He goes on to comment on the development of Fracture. “This map might have gone through the most iteration of any of our maps? The core footprint of the map (the actual H-shape) stayed the same throughout, but basically, everything else has changed at some point. Scale, paths, structures, mechanical elements (like zip lines), etc. The unique layout took a bunch of reps for us just to understand what the H-shape was going to do to basic strategy.”
To combat the symmetrical design of the map, George Sokol, the Lead Environment Artist talked about the importance of environment clarity.
“Having two sides to attack/defend each site from was challenging in early playtests. This led to us giving each quadrant of the map a distinct visual identity so that players can get a better sense of direction and aid with clear callouts.”
The new update will bring both the new Fracture map into the rotation and the Episode 3 Act II Battlepass to VALORANT.
