The Last of Us 2 is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated sequels of in the long line of Sony’s PlayStation 4 exclusives. It’s been six years since The Last of Us hit the market, fans are eagerly waiting to reunite with Ellie once again, now all grown up. Earlier this morning, an online retailer accidentally leaked The Last of Us 2 release date and much to our delight, it’s coming this year!
The Last of Us 2’s current state
Just four days ago, Naughty Dog announced that they’re done with all the cinematic shoots for the sequel.
… and we've wrapped all of the planned cinematic shoots today for The Last of Us Part II!

We still have work ahead of us, including putting these cinematics in the game, but this is a nice little milestone.
Congrats to all on stage today, and to the entire cast and crew!! https://t.co/HZAYIUnMkc
The online retailer from Slovakia, ProGamingShop, listed the game for a September 28, 2019, release. Seeing that the game is already in a pre-production state, having it come out in Fall isn’t completely impossible.
Before you put all your coins in the bag, do keep in mind that this might just be a placeholder. Previously, Cyberpunk 2077 from CD Projekt was also leaked to release on the same date. In comparison, this seems a lot more far-fetched since we still hasn’t got much info on the futuristic game just yet.
Normally, E3 would be a good place to find out for sure but Sony isn’t attending the conference this year. They are, instead, planning to do their own event. Hopefully we’ll get more info then but if that leak date is accurate, we are totally hyped for it. But for now, you can look forward to Days Gone coming out on April 26, 2019 – in four days – if you need to quench the thirst for zombies.
