The most played game of 2017 is getting a mobile port. Tencent, the Chinese company who recently acquired the right to distribute PUBG in China, is going to bring Chinese players a PUBG mobile game. The game is currently in development and Tencent wants to deliver a similar PUBG experience on mobile as on PC. How they aim to accomplish that on a smaller screen, we’ll have to wait and see.

PUBG Mobile Game

At the moment Tencent only has plans to launch the mobile version in China first. However, it is definitely not the first battle royale game on mobile since there’s already one that blatantly ripped off the original game. A worldwide release will probably follow after depending on how good the reception is going to be in China. Besides, PUBG has sold more than 20 million copies worldwide. So there is no doubt that the companies would want to expand its reach.
Tencent has been in talks with Bluehole for months and the two company recently came to an agreement regarding PUBG‘s distribution in China. The local players will be playing a slightly different version of the game. The company wants to make sure that PUBG reflects “socialist core values, Chinese traditional culture and moral rules.” Finally, PUBG for Xbox One comes out next month in December alongside these other games.
