The beloved platformer, Shantae: 1/2 Genie Hero gets its final piece of DLC today, April 10, 2018, on all platforms. The DLC consists of three additional stories, each with a unique costume for Shantae to don. Each story will utilize the special abilities of its respective costume.
What If You Had More To Play?
The stories are entirely new ‘what-if’ scenarios, which will complete new storylines, voices, moves and character artwork! In these scenarios, she won’t be able to use her signature transformation skills, but she’ll get new skills exclusively for her costumes.
The costumes will include:
Ninja Shantae: Use the walls to jump to greater heights, daze your enemies with Teleport and clip distant foes with your kunai and throwing stars!
Beach Shantae: Aside from her standard issue ponytail, Shantae dons a swimsuit and smacks beach balls into enemies. She can also float through the air using her new Bubble move, just make sure it doesn’t pop! Utilize Shantae’s high speed to find sunscreen and pools to reduce Burn Damage from the sun.
Officer Shantae: In this crossover event with Mighty Switch Force, Shantae will have control on certain blocks in the environment. Use the strategies in your favor to overcome obstacles and quickly rid of enemies! You won’t be using her signature pony-tail attack in this mode, as you’ll be equipped with an upgradable Pellet Gun.

The DLC drops today for $8, but backers will have received it a day early for free as their Kickstarter pledge reward. You can also opt for the Ultimate Edition, which launches on May 8th, 2018 for $39.99 for PS4 and Switch. The definitive version comes complete with all DLC as well as an Artbook and Game OST.
