SEAGM goes platinum in SOBA Awards 2021 and more

The Star Outstanding Business Awards or Soba Awards 2021 are one of the many awards in the business world a brand can obtain to solidify their strong presence in the market particularly in Malaysia.

Last year, SEAGM won two awards, one for Best Use of Technology and another in Best in Customer Service. This year, we are one of the finalist in five nominated categories. This includes Best Brand, Best Male Entrepreneur of the Year, Best Use of Technology, Best in Marketing and Best in Customer Service.

The company walked away with three awards last Thursday, taking home Best Use of Technology (Platinum), Best Brand (Silver). Next, the cherry on top was seeing CEO Tommy Chieng receive Outstanding Male Entrepreneur of the Year.

SEAGM as a brand

As the company continues to grow, we are constantly changing things up in the name of improvement.  SEAGM is set on the path to achieve the set vision of the company. Taking a stroll down memory lane, SEAGM has achieve much in the year of 2021. Last year, we ventured into two new sectors, technological hardware and esports. SEAGM spun off two sister companies, Gladax and SEM9 respectively as we continue to grow towards the envisioned ecosystem.

In the middle of 2021, the company also its 14th year birthday, for the first time, online. One of the annual dinner’s objective is to celebrate our employees. Several employees were awarded for service milestones ranging from 3 years, 5 years and 10 years. The ability to retain employees is a testament to the company’s culture that values togetherness.

Last but not least, the company also hit its sale target and wrapped up 2021 in a nice green bow.

Visionary leader at the helm

Moving forward to 2022, we will continue to do big things and achieve more milestones under the leadership of visionary CEO, Tommy Chieng. As the founder of international esports brand SEM9, he’s already making big moves as the organization moves into the NFT region. SEM9 currently has five professional teams competing in games such as PUBG Mobile, League of Legends, League of Legends: Wild Rift, Call of Duty: Mobile and sim-racing. Under Tommy’s leadership, the esports org also landed themselves a multi-million, multi-year contract with Tokenize Exchange. Additionally, they are also pioneering the concept of esports hotel in Southeast Asia with the first branch opening this year in Senai, Johor.

Under his leadership, SEAGM continues to flourish together with the newly established brands such as SEM9 and Gladax.

Technology, Marketing and Customer Service

Next up is our focus on technology, marketing and customer service. SEAGM has always been proud of its customers-first direction when it comes to enhancing our technology, marketing the brand and serving the users. In 2021, SEAGM’s website made a debut of its fourth version, making navigation easier for users, one of its many improvements.

In terms of marketing, the company was able to hit our 500 million set target for the year of 2021. Making it proof its marketing effectiveness. Besides the usual marketing effort, the company also gave back to the community during Malaysia’s National Day, raising over MYR 10,000 for the Handicapped and Mentally Disabled Children Association in Selangor.

Finally, the company’s front liner of the customer service team continues to maintain their stellar respond time and rating.

SEAGM look forward to serving you even better with even more improvements as we aim for the stars. We are grateful for the recognition we receive in SOBA Awards 2021. The year of 2022 has many more days to go. SEAGM will continue to strive for the top and achieve even more this year.
