Here’s a Leaked Look at the New Valorant Act III Agent: Skye Abilities
The official Valorant YouTube channel recently uploaded a trailer showcasing their latest character, Skye. This comes a day after they uploaded the teaser for their new map Icebox. The trailer gives us a god idea on the character’s backstory and skills, however thanks to a few leaks we also know the cost and how exactly these abilities work. Bear in mind that these leaks should be taken with a grain of salt. Even if they are legitimate, they could be revised in the final release on October 27th.
Skye is a rural Australian, and is themed off of nature. Her role is an Initiator, and as the title suggests she initiates battles by setting up the play field. Skye’s abilities include flashes and stuns, perfect for starting off gunfights and best used as a support role. Her abilities guise as animal spirits. Her flashes and stuns, instead of following a fixed trajectory like Phoenix’s or Breach’s, can be controlled like you would Jett’s smokes. Additionally, they can also be manually set off for precise and efficient team execution.
Here are some leaks detailing Skye’s abilities.
C: Regrowth (Cost: 200)
“EQUIP a healing trinket, HOLD FIRE to channel, healing allies in range and line of sight. Can be reused until her healing pool is depleted. Skye cannot heal herself.”
Regrowth is an AoE healing ability that can heal multiple allies at once as long as they’re within radius and line-of-sight. It works similarly to Sova’s detection arrow, where hiding behind a wall would deflect the detection. Unlike Sage’s heal ability, Skye cannot heal herself.
Q: Trailblazer (Cost: 200)
“Equip a Tasmanian tiger trinket. FIRE to send out and take control of the predator. While in control, FIRE to leap forward, exploding in a concussive blast and damaging directly hit enemies.”
Sending out the Tasmanian tiger is akin to sending out Sova’s drone without the verticality. Launching the tiger into an enemy causes damage and inflicts a stun/concuss effect similar to Breach’s Faultline.
E: Guiding Light (Cost: 100 each)
“EQUIP a hawk trinket. FIRE to send it forward. OLD FIRE to guide the hawk in the direction of your crosshair. RE-USE while the hawk is in flight to transform it into a flash.”
This is essentially a trajectory-controllable flash that can be detonated at will (still unsure whether there is a time limit). It looks as if it controls similarly to Jett’s smokescreens with the addition of being detonated upon a second click. The skill is apparently given a free charge each round and can be bought to a maximum of three times.
X: Seekers (Ult: 6 charges)
“EQUIP a Seeker trinket. FIRE to send out three Seekers to track down the three closest enemies. If a Seeker reaches its target, it nearsights them.”
This is essentially the “Twin Hunters” orb from spike rush. It locates nearby enemies and nearsights them similar to Omen’s Paranoia.
Overall, Skye is a great addition to the cast and will be particularly welcome to players who prefer a support role over fragger. Skye releases in Valorant Act III on October 27. Prepare for Skye’s arrival by purchasing Valorant Points for your region at SEAGM.
