KUALA LUMPUR, 26 July – The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Malaysia (MPL MY) is back with a thrilling Season 12, putting ten qualifying teams to the ultimate test of carrying the MI5I Malaysia mission to the global stage at the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang M5 World Championship 2023. Malaysia will also play host to the M5 Wild Card in November, where eight regions will vie for another spot in the prestigious international championship.

“Malaysia’s experience in hosting international Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Esports tournaments, including MSC 2022 and M1, and the abundance of talent in the country make us confident in delivering an exceptional esports experience for our local fans and international players competing in the M5 Wild Card,” said Fikri Rizal Mahruddin, Marketing, and Business Development Lead, MPL Malaysia.

The M5 Wild Card, introduced at MSC 2023 in June, offers two slots for more regions to participate in the biggest MLBB tournament of the year. Malaysia is among the participating countries for the offline qualifier, with the Group and Knockout Stages of the M5 World Championships scheduled to take place in the Philippines in December. MPL MY is one of the longest-running esports leagues in Malaysia, shining a spotlight on emerging talents and industry sustainability.

Revamped Arena with Greater Challenges

Season 12 brings an exciting new change with a revamped emblem, testing teams with fresh gameplay updates. Players can now explore more diverse strategies and meta, allowing for unique playstyles and character roles. This season will undoubtedly witness new strategies unfold, giving teams the opportunity to rise from #ZerotoHero.

The Rise of New Contenders

TODAK emerges as a formidable antagonist this season with an overhauled roster, including the addition of Kuja as a Coach, alongside Martzy and HazelnuT, bolstering the legendary Malaysian team’s ranks. Red Giant, Team SMG, and HomeBois also step up as worthy adversaries, all set to compete fiercely on the MPL MY stage and vie for supremacy.

  • Regular Season: 18 August to 24 September (Fridays to Sundays, except Week 6)
  • Playoffs: 5 October to 8 October

During the Regular Season, all 10 teams will play a BO3 match against each other. The competition ranking will be determined by the points garnered, with the Top 8 teams retaining their slots for the next season of MPL Malaysia.

Home Ground Leveled Up

The battleground for MPL MY S12 will be Dewan Sri Putra, Bukit Jalil, accommodating up to 600 spectators. Walk-ins are welcome, with seat reservation schedules released a week before each Thursday. Fans can lock in their seats in advance with Ticket2U, the official licensing ticket partner, and enjoy the esports action for free.
