Today during Sony’s E3 2018 showcase, right after dropping the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, they announce a surprise game drop. If you’re a PS Plus active subscriber, go get Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 free from the store! Despite its below-expectation showcase, a free game is nevertheless a welcoming thing. Remember to pick it up from the store and add it to your library before the end of this month!

What is Call of Duty: Black Ops 3?

Basically, the last of the Black Ops game that’ll have a campaign mode. Anyways, CoD: Black Ops 3 is, well, another CoD game, a first-person-shooter. However, the difference between a Black Ops entry to a normal CoD entry is that Black Ops is set in the future. Specifically, the year 2065 for this game. If you’re new to this game altogether, expect some futuristic gear with high-tech looking weapons to boot.

The game itself offers three modes, Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies. If you want to, you can play with up to four players in the Campaign cooperatively. With its very own progression system, you can unlock and upgrade plus customize your character as you progress. As for Multiplayer, it’s pretty much the usual CoD experience. There are ten classes to choose from, you can modify both your character and their weapons. Black Ops 3 also introduces the new momentum based movement system. Boost yourself in the air or slide along the walls to your heart’s content! In Zombies, another progression altogether, you can unlock even more items and customization. Take on waves of zombies as different heroes with their very own background story!
If you think about it, this probably is Activision’s way to get people excited about Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. Well, a free game is still a free game and I can appreciate that. But, with the absence of campaign, we’ll have to see how well Black Ops 4 reception will be.
