The meteor has landed, taking Season 3 with it and today marks the first day of Fortnite Battle Royale Season 4! Just like our previous breakdown of Season 3, we’ll be breaking down Season 4 in this piece. Here’s what you can expect from the new season. If you’re new to the game and is unsure of what a Battle Pass is, check out the quick explanation here in our previous breakdown. Season 4’s Battle Pass is superhero-themed and features 100 tiers of new rewards.

What’s in Season 4?

Remember that comet that plummeting towards us in the last season? Well it has landed in one, big, map-altering fashion! Season 4 is introducing two new location to the Fortnite map – Dusty Divot and Risky Reels.

Map Changes

Dusty Divot
Previously Dusty Depot, the landing of the meteor has created a giant crater with a huge research base in the middle. Here’s where you will find the new consumable, Hop Rocks. These glowing blue rocks grant player low gravity for a few minutes. You can jump way higher and there’s also a reduction in falling damage while on Hop Rocks.
Risky Reels
In comparison to Dusty Divot, Risky Reels is just another location for landing and looting. Though, this is one of the places where you can find the F-O-R-T-N-I-T-E letters for Week One challenge. So remember to pick that one!
Besides these two big changes to the map, there are several others you can find if you look close enough! Notably, there are various smaller craters all over the map now since the meteor landed. These changes are cosmetics but be sure to check them out for the letter hunts!

Season 4 Battle Pass

Carbide OufitRemember, to get all these new fancy items, you need to have purchased the Battle Pass.
