Twitch streamer Grossgore banned after sexual harassment claims

UK-based League of Legends streamer, Ali “Grossgore” Larsen is back in the news again for all the wrong reason. Following his behavior during the recent official Runescape convention, RuneFest, it resulted in getting Grossgore banned from Twitch. Besides the 30-day ban, he’s also now banned from attending the upcoming TwitchCon, according to his recent tweet:

The first incident and getting banned by Jagex

To understand the whole incident, we’ll start with the first incident during the RuneFest convention. This got him in hot waters with Runescape developer, Jagex. Due to his actions, Grossgore is now banned from attending any future Jagex events. They also refuse to continue working with him any longer. Here’s what Jagex has to say about Larsen:
“Having reviewed the allegations we have found that the content creators concerned did breach our code of conduct,” Jagex conveyed in their official statement. “We do not tolerate inappropriate or offensive behaviour in any way and, while we had a limited working relationship with some of the individuals, we will not be working with them, or allowing them to attend future Jagex events, going forward.

Grossgore and Skiddler

On October 9, during RuneFest, Larsen was captured in a recording trying to kiss a girl. He grabbed her by the chin, attempting to keep her face still. Despite having a girlfriend and a daughter, that didn’t seem to deter him from advancing on other women.

Later on, he went on to comment on a girl’s breasts, at the same time, calling his friends over to ‘compliment’ on it as well. He did this multiple times, to other women as well. One of them, simply known as Rachel, was a friend of Elliot ‘Skiddler’. Afterward, Skiddler, a fellow streamer, confronted Grossgore. This later turns into a physical fight. Here’s Skiddler’s side of the story.

Following the incident blowing up and going public, Grossgore defended himself saying he was just being nice to a girl. He also stated that, if she didn’t want to receive compliments regarding her body, she shouldn’t have dressed so sexily. As for the forced kissing, he feigns ignorance, pretending it didn’t happen. Here’s the full clip of his side of the story.

What got Grossgore banned from Twitch

Subsequently, Larsen went on Twitter to explain why he got banned. It wasn’t all that harassing and physical altercation, it was because of a clip of him following women around on his knees. This happened at the same event, during RuneFest. Twitch has him on a 30-day ban. On top of that, he’s also not allowed to stream on YouTube since he’s still under contract with Twitch.
This isn’t his first time getting into trouble. Last year in May, he was issued his first ban after making defamatory claims against Mitch “Krepo” Voorspoels. That, and several Fnatic players that he tried to start trouble with as well. Read more about that here.
What’s your take on this? Do you agree with his 30-day ban? Should it be permanent or do you think Twitch is overreacting?
